He was first given the name of Galahad but was given the confirmation name of Lancelot. Lancelot’s father was driven out of his kingdom by a revolt of the people in his kingdom, he was a very harsh king. Because of having to flee from their kingdom King Ban died of a broken heart. While Lancelot’s mother was tending to her husband a friendly water-fay carried Lancelot off and raises him up in her kingdom. When Lancelot reached the age of manhood he is sent out into the world.
