I would like to argue against the banning of the book, The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. I am a student of John Swett that has been moved by reading such a powerful book and would like to influence you to prevent the banning of this book.

The Kite Runner has been challenged nationwide in many classrooms and libraries for many reasons, including the following: homosexuality and graphic rape; prominent oppression towards Hazaras; excessive violence; and the negative portrayal of Afghanistan. However these traumatic events are pivotal moments that lead for the growth of the character, Amir. In addition these occurrences are deemed to be necessary to contribute to a more intense emotional attachment to such foil characters that allow the flaws
