Kwanzaa is a Swahili word and it comes from Matunda ya Kwanza meaning first fruit to harvest.
Also, Kwanzaa is celebrated from December 26 to January 1 , which is seven days. Each day represents something important to build up the people that celebrate it. Kwanzaa is used to inform African Americans about their culture, heritage, and should be celebrated by Africans Americans. Day one is known as Kuumba which means creativity, next we have Umoja or unity, next we have Kujichagulia meaning self determination . Day four is called Ujima, or collective work and responsibility.
