One important reason that Laura and Howie encountered a dangerous world and malevolent world when they left camp they had no shelter to sleep in. when Laura and Howie left there camp they were in they has no place to place to sleep in so they had to sleep on the ground in the forest. What this means is that Laura and Howie left camp with no shelter so they had to sleep in the forest which could´ve gone bad in many ways for example they could´ve encountered a wild animal or someone really dangerous.
