Glory (1989) is a Hollywood movie where the main character of the movie, Colonel Robert Gould Shaw leads a team of freed black soldiers to fight against the confederate armies during the American civil war. The movie shows how a leader learns to influence an unskilled, but courageous team to accomplish a common goal i.e. defending the Union. Although the movie portraits Colonel Robert as the main leader, we can see different leadership stories within the movie, where each character plays a vital role in supporting Robert’s mission. The protagonist Robert Gould Shaw was born to wealthy Boston abolitionist, who accepts promotion to Colonel commanding one of the first regiments of black soldiers in the Union Army known as the 54th Massachusetts
