In the novel “Of Mice and Men” by John Steinbeck, a person's strength can also be their weakness. John Steinbeck writes, “Lennie’s so scared all he can think to do is jus’ hold on.” (Steinbeck 41). Basically, the author is saying that Lennie latches onto things until something scares him. When fear strikes him, he squeezes tighter and there's nothing else he can think of doing. The purpose of this quote is to give an insight on Lennie’s strength and also show that he doesn’t actually know how strong he really is. Many people assume that people are conscious of their actions. In this scenario, Lennie is often unaware of what he’s doing and how it is affecting George and himself. Steinbeck
