Hello Dr. Freud,
My name is Trevor Endre. I am a Student of Argosy University. I have recently read about your Unconscious, Psychosexual stages of development, and Structure of personality, theories. I found them to be quite interesting, I am compelled to be convinced by your theories. But on the other hand, I feel as though you were dismissing some very important points in some of your concepts. Finally, we have the Superego. “The superego develops during early childhood (when the child identifies with the same sex parent) and is responsible for ensuring moral standards are followed.” (McLeod) The super ego operates on the morality principle and motivates us to behave in a socially acceptable manner. I agree with Freud’s theory of personality structure. But now there are more theories surrounding personality also with validity and relevance. This theory should not be rejected based on how the interpretations effect you. It should instead only be rejected when on solid scientific
