Capulet made selfish decisions which was one of the many reasons Romeo and juliet killed themselves. Lord Capulet speaks for Juliet without knowing her thoughts and said “I think she will be ruled in all respects by me. Nay, more, I doubt it not.” (III,IV,13). Without knowing how Juliet felt, Lord Capulet went ahead and spoke for her saying that she would marry Paris. He was also selfish in the beginning of the drama when “Three civil brawls, bred of an airy word, By thee, old Capulet, and Montague.” (I,i,82). Lord Capulet was selfish for not thinking about how the rest of his family, Juliet, felt about the Montagues which caused Juliet to keep her love for Romeo secret.
