After the Bill of Rights, the Ten Amendments, were published and added onto the Constitution, the US had a stable society because it protected the rights of Americans while having a strong central government. After the US became a stable and independent nation, things got better for Americans. They came to the realization that their population was growing and needed more land to accommodate that growth. They needed land to establish homes, roads, etc. The increase in the number of people also meant that they would need to have more economic opportunities. These opportunities may be fertile land for farming, valuable resources, new markets, etc. All these are necessary factors for a growing population. For these reasons, Americans thought it was their destiny to expand their land from coast to coast, and they called this Manifest Destiny.
