When I think about what happened to King Lear, I automatically think about lying. He knows his daughters, Goneril and Regan were lying about how much they loved him. It was all in hopes of getting the bigger piece of the kingdom then the other sisters. His other daughter
Cordelia said very little about how much she loved him, but she was being honest. “Like a daughter should”, is what she said. It made King Lear mad because he wanted a detailed description. There’s a lot of songs that have to deal with loved ones lying to you. I picked the song “Love The Way You Lie” By Eminem and Rihanna.
The song “Love The Way You Lie” is about two people who love each other getting lied too. Both people know they’ve been lied too, but …show more content…
“You push, pull each other’s hair, stracth, claw, bite em,
Throw em’ down, pin em’, so lost in the moments,” Is equal to when Regan and Goneril sent
King Lear and Cordelia to get tourched and killed. The daughters sent their father King Lear to get abused. Even though the song and the story aren’t the same kind of abuse, it’s still abuse. The story and the song both have mental abuse in them. Regan and Goneril mess with King Lears head so bad he becomes crazy. He loses his mind and starts acting crazy and irrashinable. When he is out in the storm he asks the lightening to strike him, therefore to take him out of the misery he was going through. The misery is due to his daughters treating him like a peasent whenever if it wasn’t for him they wouldn’t be where they were then.
This is a good example of how we listen to what we hear, instead of what we actually see.
It’s nice to hear what you want to hear, but worse if it’s just toxic words. Both the story and the song are great examples of that. King Lear wanted to see how much his dauters loved him, but instead his world gor turned upside down and he was abandoned. It’s a great example that shows no matter how sweet it may sound, it could hurt you in the
