Eighteen is the age of adulthood in the United States, which entails the individual with the right to vote, serve on juries, get married, and to join the military- which includes risking one’s life (5,6). Along with these rights, adults should have the opportunity to make their own decisions on alcohol consumption. One should have the characteristic of maturity, being able to assemble their own choices. If one abuses the liability they hold while drinking, they are risking their own life, misunderstanding the point of drinking in general.
Overall, along with the freedom of being an adult, lowering the drinking age can put an individual in danger, as well as the people around them (29).Younger children and adolescents begin to binge when they start to drink, which makes them more likely to be to engaged in behaviors that harm themselves and others.
