Re: Management Behavior

As you are well aware many changes are taking place, teamwork and adapting to the changes will benefit both you and the company. The behavior of management will directly affect productivity of their subordinates; the company expects this in a positive manner. Laws and business environment make it more important than ever to have a diverse workforce.
The management’s behavior directly affects the productivity of their subordinates. When I first start in management, I had an employee everyone said did not pull his weight. I observed many instances where the employee was treated not friend by those he worked with and after a short talk realized he felt no one cared so he did not care. I made a point to appreciate what he did and let him know when I need more, he responded in a positive manner. The employee continued to do better and his peers began to notice and the team’s production increased, take a moment to tell your employees they did a good job and if something seems wrong ask, it will help. A study done has shown twelve things that employees’ state helps their production level; a manager can achieve many of these. First on the list, “knows what is expected” managers that communicate clearly allow their subordinates to know exactly what is expected of them (Cascio, 2006). Other statements such as having the necessary materials and equipment, given the opportunity to do their best, give praise or recognition when earned, a member of management cares about me as a person, someone encourages the individual daily can be accomplished easily by a manager (Cascio, 2006). QWL, quality of work life, refers to the employee’s perception on the job; those that have high QWL tend to be more productive (Cascio, 2006). A positive be behavior that enriches the workplace will be expected from all managers. Remember the words “I like the way you did…” can go a long way to increase production. Managers need to be aware of all laws regarding hiring, firing, and promoting but treating everyone equally will ensure you are following the law. Managers should be looking at qualifications for all hiring, employment test given interviews should show if the employee has the qualities need for the job. Keeping all records regarding interview and grading will be kept on file. Documentation for any disciple that takes place, showing all individuals are treated equal for any like violation. Allowing employee one to come in late 5 days means that you must allow the same to employee b. Promotions like hiring will be done on merit and qualifications,
