The Red Umbrella What happens when you go outside in the winter? You get cold! What happens when you touch the stove when it’s on? You burn your hand. It takes common sense most of the time to know right from wrong. Common sense is essential for an easy, accident-free life. Isabella never really understood how important common sense was until she decided to leap off her Daddy’s truck, scrapes her knees, and gets in big trouble. The story begins with a little girl named Isabella. She was a spirited little girl with imagination and energy. On a nice sunny Tuesday, her mother came home from work with her favorite movie. The movie had stared and she started intently at the screen while Mary sings “A Spoon Full of Sugar.” Isabella loved the thought of having a nanny. She could just imagine, if Mary was her own personal nanny, all the fun she would have with floating umbrellas and dancing penguins. That would be the life. The songs in Mary Poppins are too catchy not to sing, so she started singing as loud as she could and not good if I might add. Her mother soon grew impatient and told Isabella to go outside if she wanted to sing so loud.
The minute Isabella stepped outside, she imagined she was Mary Poppins, and she was singing with dancing penguins. Cars flew by on the road while she was dancing. They probably thought she was crazy; maybe they were right. Outside the house she could do anything in the world
