There is huge debate whether McDonald’s is a reason for the obesity rate being so high in the United States. McDonald’s is actually very unhealthy and has taken a toll on America. About ⅓ of U.S. children from the age four to nine-teen eat fast food everyday. Which might have something to do with the obesity rate doubling in just 30 years. McDonald’s average meal is about 1,500 calories, which is about how many calories some people eat a day. About ⅓ of adults in the U.S. are considered obese. McDonald’s food has not only taken a toll on adults but has taken a huge toll on children as well. The purpose of the charity is to create, find and support programs that help the health and wellbeing of children and families. They do many different things to help ill children over over the world. There are over 350 Ronald Mcdonald houses that serves around 7,200 families a night. They have temporary houses near major hospitals that house families being treated. Ronald Mcdonald charity also has family rooms in hospitals where families can relax while their ill child is being treated. They serve special vehicles around the world where health care for children is limited and they pick them up and get them help. If there is a child who has a physical disability and stills wants to play sports they have sports centers for them to play their sport at. The charity doesn’t just help little children, the charity also helps out young adults and parents with their financial needs. They give scholarships to colleges for students who achieve high marks, help out in the community, and show leadership.
