This is not a true statement. I would never describe it as “JUST” a medical assistant because they hold a vast number of responsibilities that could help or harm the health of a patient. It takes determination, courage, attention to detail, problem solving and great customer service skills to be an outstanding medical assistant, and bestows honor, and helps to make life easier for patients and providers. This helps with timely treatment of the patient, so it is very important that the provider has access to them as soon as possible. Now that the patient has arrived and they go through the check-in process, make sure the rooms and anything the patient will come in contact with is sanitized and this process is completed after every patient. In my day-to-day process, once I pull the patient back after sanitizing everything, I get their weight and height, then put them in a room to get them ready to see the provider. While in the room, I like to ask them questions to see if there have been any changes, surgeries or updated medical history to report since the last visit if they are an established patient or go over all their medical history if they are
