In medieval times there were many different types of weapons. There were also different

types of armor. They even had a basic chemical weapon. There were also some different siege

weapons.

In medieval times there were a large amount of variations of weapons used. Caltrops are

little spiked weapon thrown on the ground. They were mainly used to keep cavalry from going

through an area. They could also be used to slow down infantry. They were usually designed so

that no matter how they land a spike is sticking up.

A halberd is a spear and a axe combined. The halberd also usually had a hook on the

opposite side of the axe blade.The hook was used for dismounting enemies from their mounts. A

Anelaces and Falchions. Maces were usually used for anti armor. But they were more versatile

The other main type was chain mail. This armor was much easier to maneuver in

and could more easily cover joints. The mail is made of a bunch of metal links. Like a chain but the

rings are much smaller. For most of the medieval ages the plated armor was cheaper to make.

Some of the nobles had their armor made to look nice as well.

There were many different types of helmets used in medieval times. Gauntlets were

armored gloves. Sometimes they had knuckle dusters incorporated into them. Knuckle dusters are

usually made of hard material and goes over or in a fist to increase the damage of a blow.

Their communication when in battle was usually audible or visual. Drums and horns were

often used for giving commands during a battle. Flags were also used to give commands. Some

ways that towers or castles could warn of danger or invaders by using fire or smoke signals.

Sometimes people were able to train pigeons to take messages to certain places. One way they

could do this is to take the pigeon to a place with food after it gained a home and used it as one.
