I want the privilege of serving my country and upholding the Constitution of the United States. I had the opportunity to attend SLE this past summer and get a glimpse into the life as a cadet. Visiting West Point only grew my desire to attend the United States Military Academy more. I loved the experience and especially loved the people that I was with. During the week of SLE, one of the cadre said something that has stuck with me since which was that the Air Force is about planes, the Navy is about ships, but the Army is about people. This stuck out to me because the primary reason I want to serve on active duty as an Army officer is that I want to defend my country and everyone in it. The people are what make West Point so special. The Army is about relationships, which is a unique aspect that I had never pondered. The opportunity to attend West Point would give me the ability to learn from people that are truly knowledgeable. People discover something new about them every time they are in the faced with adversity. Cadets at West Point are faced with adversity every day. They are pushed to their limit, and when they make it to the other side after four years they are a better person and leader because of
