Military Family Case Study

Introduction
During the past eight years, I have seen first-hand the challenges military families face. A member of a military family myself, moving around the United States has shown me different struggles within many different parts of the country. Not aware of the geographical differences between each city I have lived in the past, I was unable to theorize a plan to help within certain conflict areas that interested me. Now, as a college student, I am provided the necessary information to help develop a plan to make a difference in this large military community. I chose Jacksonville, NC not only because is it where I currently live, but it is also home to one of the largest Marine Corps bases in the United States.
Rationale
When one thinks of military life struggles, many will automatically assume the struggles only affect military member themselves; however, numerous times the spouse of military members have struggles all of their own. A leading problem that faces the Jacksonville military community is, job opportunities for spouses. This is primarily due to the harsh moving requirements set forth by the military. When a spouse moves into a new city, and decides to apply for a certain job, employers not familiar with a military lifestyle may hold their constant moving, and instability in the work force against them. Having no control over moving, spouses face hardships that a great amount of employers do not understand; for example, a non-military related resume may contain the same information as a military resume, but one of those resumes has special circumstances as to why, gaps, and constant moving around jobs have occurred. Thus, these employers need the guidance and resources to understand how to distinguish these
