Introduction The definition of sexual assault is a crime that involves unwelcome or unconsented contact from or by another individual with the use of force, bodily risk, or abuse of power. Over the past few years, sexual assault has been high on the list of growing concerns among members of the military to include all branches. The authors of this article revealed they used information from previous studies to track the frequency of cardiac risks and events involving female military members to include those with a history of sexual assault and those without. The information within the study showed that behaviors involving health, medical conditions, and medical interventions that are relevant to cardiac risks are linked to females that have served in the military with self-reported sexual assault or trauma linked to their military service. The threats to the internal validity of the study was prior medical conditions before the sexual trauma experience that were not identified along with having to rely on the honesty regarding the completion of the questionnaire/survey by all participants. The external validity for this study was absent at the time the study was conducted and a link between sexual trauma and cardiac risk factors was not ventured into past
