There are several aspects that make an individual a whole. These aspects are the physical, spiritual and emotional part. In order to dig deep and find these areas as a whole, one must be able to practice and learn the skills of being mindful. In order to achieve this skill, the individual must have goals set in place. These goals need to be specific and should be realistic in order to successfully be able to determine what the outcome will be. This will allow them to be able to move in the proper direction to achieve the person as a whole.

My first goal would be allowing myself to set a bedtime routine. This would allow for me to have a full nights rest and getting up on time daily without feeling tire, lethargic and grouchy. Getting plenty of rest would allow my body to not have the need for hitting the snooze button. I would gain the ability to remember tasks daily and focus on my drive to work and overall health. I would be able to achieve this goal by setting a bed time that I stick by and do not deviate from that time. This will allow my internal clock to be reset and dependent on the time needed for sleep. My second goal for this aspect would be eating food that nourishes my body. While I am able to get a better night’s sleep, this will give my brain the ability to make better choices of food that provides my body the nutrients that it needs to stimulate myself, reduce distractions, lose weight and be healthy. The first step I will take to achieve this goal is to start out by eliminating the food in my home that is high in fats and carbohydrates. I would focus on shopping on the outer perimeter of the grocery store that stocks foods that are deemed healthy. I will make a list each time I go shopping so that I am not temped to purchase anything that might not be considered clean while
