b. Write about experiences, people or organizations that have had the greatest influence on your moral compass. Explaining how these affected it.

a.) Growing up, I learned how to make the right and wrong decisions from observing my parents as others would say, as well as from my community and religion. I was born and raised in the United States, but both my father and mother are from Hyderabad, Pakistan where my family was very well reputed from my grandfather. Due to those morals there was a situation during my undergrad career when I was absent from school to pay last respects to my beloved grandma and had to take an exam on a different day than the other students. By the time I returned to school the following week the other students had already taken the exam and gotten there graded test back. I was offered from another student to look at her exam to help me study for mine. At the time I was overwhelmed and stressed from the fact I am one week behind then the others and I should consider her help, however my morals and my values neglected me from doing so. In the dental hygiene profession you have patients you treat and are trusting you under your care. Honesty will be very important when being informative about their treatment and oral health. As my parents taught me to be honest when I was under their care at one time, its very similar how patients will be under my supervision and have that trust that as there hygienist I'm giving them the proper treatment and educating them about oral hygiene. The method my parents used on me as a child of rewarding and punishing its similar to how a dental hygienist might feel. For example, when you see a patient for cleaning and you also educate them on how to floss and keep up with their oral care, the patient might compliment you and thank you for giving them such care. That moment the hygienist might feel proud, or accomplished of their choice in career, and love what they do which is creating beautiful smiles. On the other hand, you see a patient and behave unprofessionally and not give them the treatment they came for the patient might feel like they were disrespected and continue not caring about their dental
