For my volcano report I got Mt. Nyiragongo. Mt. Nyiragongo is in Goma, a city in Congo, Africa. Nyiragongo has erupted about 34 times. In 1977, it erupted and drained it’s lava lake killing over 1,000 people. When it erupted in 1994, it caused a lot of destruction and forced Rwandan refugees to flee. In 2002 there was a lot of activity and small eruptions. The last eruption was in 2011, but there was not a lot of recorded information on it. Nyiragongo is in the Virunga Mountains and has an elevation of 11,385ft. It is a stratovolcano which is the most dangerous type of volcanos. A fun fact about Nyiragongo is that on 1/10/1977 Mt.
