Human Rights Advocate Muhammad Ali, originally known as Cassius Clay, was a boxer, philanthropist, and a social activist who was called one of the greatest athletes of the 20th century. Muhammad grew up in the South during the time where segregation had been a huge deal. When he was 12 years of age, Ali started boxing under the protection of a police officer by the name of Joe Martin. After years of training, Ali won a gold medal at the 1960 Olympics and later started his career as a boxer.
