This assignment intends to examine the roles, responsibilities and dilemmas of professional agencies working alongside both children and their families. To do this I will be looking at the key concepts of multi-agency working, the differing roles and how they work with individuals, the diversity of cultural and social family experiences and the impact for multi-agency and the benefits and difficulties of working in a multi-agency environment. In addition to this, I will be looking at how these aspects impact individuals and how they can help to overcome specific barriers. Key conclusions will be drawn from a high level of comprehension and awareness of the current multi-agency practices, and finally, recommendations for the future are to be made on how key professionals and services can improve.

‘Multi-agency partnership working is where practitioners from more than one agency work together jointly, sharing aims, information, tasks and responsibilities in order to intervene early to prevent problems arising which may impact on children’s learning and achievement.
