While over time I have evolved as a person and discovered more about myself, one thing about me has always been constant: I’m epileptic.

Describe a problem you’ve solved or a problem you’d like to solve. It can be an intellectual challenge, a research query, an ethical dilemma — anything that is of personal importance, no matter the scale. Explain its significance to you and what steps you took or could be taken to identify a solution. [No change] “I can’t find any equations to model this spiral revolution, it’s too obscure!” I tell my project partner, who is playing a video game on the computer adjacent to mine, decidedly not working on our final project. After viewing a couple more websites, I bemoan our choice in topic, unable to believe that nobody’s modeled this before. He glances over, unhelpfully telling me that I’m overthinking. He’s not taking pen spinning seriously enough, the madman! Much more interesting than any roller coaster or catapult, pen spinning provides entertainment to thousands of students every day. As a veteran pen spinner, I’m very interested in learning more pen tricks and refining my old ones, and this project was perfect for me to open up a more mechanical side to my spinning. We chose to focus on the most basic trick, the thumbaround, ___________ At the beginning of our project, I had no idea how complicated it would be to describe the mechanics of a pen spinning around a thumb. Friction, gravity, and reaction time were all considered our analysis. But my most major concern was the pen slipping around the thumb, causing it to travel in a more spiral path rather than a perfectly
