My mom, Virginia Nosky, has always had a love for soccer. Yet, her love goes deeper than kicking a ball along a field. Her many different coaches throughout her lifetime have helped her to become a better soccer player and a better person. The importance of family is something my mom cherishes. But, how could soccer have something to do with that. My mom’s soccer coaches have always been extremely influential to her. Doug, her college coach, helped her appreciate things.When my mom played in the women’s national championship game in college soccer, her coach help her realize the importance of family. Before the game, my mom’s soccer team came out of the locker room, and as they came out, they were handed a rose by their coach. During the national anthem, my mom held that rose tight, preparing for one of the biggest soccer games in her life, thinking about how ready her coaches have made her for the game. Though my mom, never truly loved her family as much as she did after the women’s championship game. That rose influenced her love on her own family today. She has also given her love for her family towards my brother and me. “You two need to watch out for each other,” is something I hear often from my mom. Whenever there is an offer from a friend to go somewhere and my mom and dad are going somewhere, my mom tells me “no”. She says that I need to watch my brother and keep him safe. Though this may be troubling at times, my mom really does have a point. She shows me the love of family is so important. Soon, my mom will be giving me new insight on the importance of family, just as Mr G and Doug inspired her. Those two coaches really influenced my mom into the person she is today. Let’s just say, one of the main reasons she became a teacher was so that she could help kids, just like the two coaches that help
