I would need to be able to accept that others forced flaws on me that were never flaws from the start. They are just aspects of my beauty that made me unique from other women. The notion that I am supposed to stay with my own kind, will be a harder prejudice idea for me to overcome. I currently attend an HBCU, because I believed that this is the best way to stay with my own kind. I also do not affiliate myself with people from the opposite sex that are not in my race. The best way for me to see outside of my own race would be if a transferred from my college, and allow myself to be open to engaging in relationships outside my race. I need to surround myself with new culture and ideas, and that will better help me understand other races and beliefs. Having these biases shows how much I am unaware and that limits me to the progress that I could have in my education as well as my social life. The person displaying the prejudice shows the ignorance of that person. The best way to change a person’s mind about discrimination would be to help them acknowledge their ignorance. Many people are unaware of the prejudice ways, and the negative power it has over another person’s life. The only way to change a person’s mind about discrimination is to make them feel the way they make other’s feel. Help them see them feel and see the negative ideas, and only then will they understand the power of their words and
