My Writing Experience

As a senior student, I did not spend all 4 years at Blair. Growing up in a household where Spanish is my primary language, it became difficult to read in English during elementary school. I realized that going to your teachers for extra support during lunch has a positive influence in your life. My interest in reading and writing has increased to a great extent. This interest in reading and writing improved when I made a point that if I enjoy the context, I am able to maintain focused and entertained. I have improved exponentially as a writer since my 9th grade year, after getting my work back from my teacher there were corrections on the essays that enabled me to identify my mistakes and weaknesses. As high school is ending, I say that in the beginning I wasn’t sure where and how to start essays, now I can structure and proof read before turning assignments in to my teachers. I believe that writing often has helped to express emotions , create different perspectives and arguments to prove what I am writing makes sense. As a writer, I wish to become better at introductions in order for people reading my writing can give their undivided attention. I show confidence to give opportunity to new ideas and thoughts. What I liked the most about writing “ Minority Report” was adding powerful details and explanation of the movie’s action . It was clever to compare real life to the character's action. I liked being able to talk about how compelling everything was. The movie genre helped me write this piece because I enjoy mysterious + action movies/books. I liked that in the assignment the students had to put their own thoughts for their last paragraph of what “pre-crime” means. What I liked is that this piece reflects my strength as a writer. I wrote this 2 years ago, when I proof read this there are some words and sentences I would change in order for it to sound better or make more sense. I had fragmented statements and my word structure was not good. Now, I am able to separate the sentences between 2 different topics. I believed what I liked about this assignment was including my own belief, using examples and comparisons.
