One of my professional goals is to become an early childhood education teacher. I’ve always loved working with children. One of my personal goals is to lose weight. My goal is to lose about 50 pounds. Writing fits into my professional goal very well, but it does not fit as well into my personal goal. Writing is very important when it comes to being a teacher. Writing is pretty much the basis of teaching. A teacher needs to understand the writing process because they will have to teach the basic writing process. I can’t really think of a way that writing fits into my personal goal of losing weight. I think the time that a writing process could be beneficial in losing weight is when I'm researching best ways to lose weight and determining if they are a credible source or not.
Before this course, I knew a fair amount about writing and the writing processes. I knew how to plan out an essay very well because I already knew the t-chart method as I have used it many times in the past. One of the exploratory writing techniques that I learned to use was to move slowly when I’m exploring an essay topic. I discovered that I need to keep myself open to exploring more than one idea for a topic so that I’m not stuck writing about something that has little to no evidence. I learned what an information sandwich was as well. Before this course, I struggled a little bit with including quotes or paraphrases correctly. I learned that to successfully include information into an essay the first step is to introduce the information, then to put the information itself, and then to explain the information. It helped me a lot when I was writing my research paper. I was able to include the information in a clear concise way that made sense and that was
