A Bossy Self-Sufficient Non Narcissist Those who are narcissist make the worse friends. The reason is that “When they don’t need you anymore they discard you like a used tissue” (Plante). This makes me seriously hope that I am not a narcissist. To calm that overwhelming amount of fear from the thought of being a narcissist I took the Narcissist Personality Inventory (N.P.I). On this test I scored a nine out of forty; with a high tendency in authority, and self-sufficiency; while scoring low on exhibitionism. It came as no surprise that I scored high on the authority facet. I have always liked being in charge and would quite frequently look for chances to take control. The best example I can think to give is the fact that I was frequently in charge of getting my high school drama team ready for plays and competitions. One of the times I decided to step up and take charge of a play happened to be thirty minutes before curtain call. The main question that showed this side of me was “I like to take responsibility for making decisions” (N.P.I). I actually quite enjoy taking on all sorts of responsibilities. The reason this came as a surprise is that my favorite activity in school was the drama team. I loved getting up on stage and performing. I also loved performing for one or two judges. This was something that would make me feel whole. Another reason it comes as a shock is the fact that my fall back career has always been a psychology teacher. One of the questions that I had trouble with was “I prefer to blend into the crowd” Or “I like to be the center of attention” (N.P.I) This question was hard because when I am in a situation where I am new I would much rather blend into to the background.
