Is sitting during the playing of our National Anthem disrespectful? In my opinion you are showing disrespect to our country. The National Anthem and the flag represent freedom and pride in our county. Each of the aforementioned represents every citizen regardless of race, religion, or personal belief. Our flag and National Anthem show respect and honor to those who have proudly served our country. We are honoring them and their service by standing when the colors are presented and as the National Anthem is being played. Even though a well known athlete has decided to not stand and show proper respect, there are many other ways to state your personal belief other than disrespecting the United States.
