The National Honors Society stands on four basic pillars on which the students who are sought out should adhere. Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character. These four terms, though basic words, hold the foundation of what The National Honors Society represents as well as what they want the students that have the privilege to be a part of the society to stand for. To have the privilege of receiving an invitation to adhere to these pillars and to be a member of The National Honors Society is an honor that I am very thankful for. That being said, I pride myself in having good grades and keeping my grades up during sports and other after school activities. To highlight, I love and enjoy playing hockey. I have been playing since I was six. I take this opportunity to teach kids who are just trying the sport out for the first time why I love hockey. I do this through helping at the learn to skate or try hockey for free programs at Martin Ice Arena. I have also occasionally gone to Shepard Elementary school, where my mom is a third grade teacher, to help with anything the teachers need. I help along with teaching some of the students different concepts with fun new workshops. I have always loved the sport of disc golf, I used to play with my dad when I was very young, and started playing in tournaments when I was eight years old. When I moved to Mt. Pleasant. I had a goal to start a club where high schoolers could meet and play disc golf together. This goal was achieved last year when I helped co-found the MPHS disc golf club, where I am now one of the captains. I continue to teach new members how to play, and we are doing our first tournament as a team next month. My fourth grade teacher did something one day where she pulled us aside to have a conference with us and gave us a name
