Hello, my name is Jacky Xu and it is an honor to be invited to apply for the National Honor Society program. I would be interested in joining the NHS because it exhibits dedication to both academics and service. Another reason for me being interested in joining the NHS is that my college applications for scholarships may gain credibility if I am a part of the National Honors Society. I will also have endless possibilities. There are many benefits you can gain from joining the NHS. I have never heard of the NHS until now. I have worked hard to keep my grades up and try to stand out as much as possible. I believe that I should be able to join the NHS because my character is exceptional. I am an honest person. I can't stand lying to others because the feeling of guilt will always leave me regretful about my actions. I treat everyone with respect and I am compassionate and patient. I embrace all types of people and will always treat others the way I would want to be treated. I always teach life lessons to the younger generations and I always try to lead by example. A famous quote is ‘’chase your dreams because dreams without actions will always be just dreams’’. This quote pushes us to stop living in fantasy or figments of our imagination and to start taking action to accomplish our objectives. I believe that as long as you work endlessly with determination and grit, you will always be successful in life. If I do get into the NHS, I know there will be many bumpy roads up ahead. But I am willing to drive over those bumpy roads to get to my destination. This essay proves that I have the necessary skills to join the NHS. I hope I can get in.
