Racial and gender bias are recurring ideas in this novel. Both the Indians and Europeans have different ideas about different opinions. Some racial bias are the ideas that Indians are less professional and organized when fighting. Indians have more of a sense of knowledge or where they are fighting and how to beat their enemies. The Europeans fight with more power and they are organized with better and stronger weapons. The Europeans thought that since they were white and “more privileged” they were better fit men for war. An example of a racial bias is “I loved both you and your father Uncas, though our skins are not altogether of a color, and our gifts are somewhat different" (Cooper 373).
