Becoming a teenager is the hardest part of life. They are able to see the world for what is really is and that there is problems among their family. Families throughout the decades went through many changes that it become “constructive and destructive- that one scarcely knows what the word family means these days” (Rochman). Growing up in different decades makes a family “ill-structured by the rigid structure of the traditional family” (Rochman). Having a non-traditional family can make it conflicting for the teenager to understand what they want in life. The influence on them makes it their belief and that causes the teenager to not really find out who they are really meant to be. Not all families have an extremely big influence, some help them “discover how [they] fit into the larger world [by helping them] discover how [they] fit into the ‘community of the family”(Rochman). It may not just be the family's influence that makes it difficult for a teenager to be able to find out where their life will lead, it can be. Teenagers can be an orphan and doesn’t have any influence in their lives to be able to help them through anything. Teenagers can have parents that do not know they are even there. Teenagers could live with a grandparent and instead of the grandparent taking care of the teenager, the teenager takes care of the grandparent.Teenagers having to a strict guardians means they cannot go explore the world. Having bad influence on a teenagers life can make it extremely hard for them to find the correct path to start their journey. The world is full of bad things and it is very easy to be able to go down the wrong path. There are so many places a teenager can end up at the end of their journey. They can end up being a hooker or they can end up being a doctor. It all depend on the teenager and how they want to take the influence they have. Having parents influence the teenager can decide if they want to keep it and go through a path that they will be comfortable with or to make their own beliefs and to find a new path that will be suit them best. Teenagers not having having influence can make it even more difficult than teenagers with parents influence. They have to decide if they want to get out of the horrible life they are in or to go and make a better life for themselves. The teenagers that do not have any influence will have more trial and error in their lives. No matter the influence all teenagers start out the same. They are conflicted on how to start their journey and what they want to become in their future. Teenagers being orphaned do not have any influences to help them through their journey. They have to go through everything by themselves. If they are not strong enough to get through all the tough times that is going on then they will lead to going down the wrong path.
