I arrived on site at 2926 56th street Oakland CA yesterday at 9:52AM. I was there to change out a Simon XT half hardwire half wireless to a new Safewatch 3000 with radio and pulse and add one indoor camera, one z-wave land module, one ring door bell, one pulse gateway. When I arrived I noticed that the customer already had an existing alarm , installed by another company. They already had 2 door locks (both already installed in front door and front metal door), one thermostat (thermostat is not ADT pulse compatible, it was previously installed by another company), two land modules (both were already connected to a power strip when I arrived), and one light switch that controlled their front porch lights ( the light switch was not compatible with our ADT alarm system). The customer told me on arrival that he could already control all of his z-wave devices through alarm.com and that the ADT sales representative (Steve Bystedt) that sold them the system had promised him and his wife …show more content…
The system they already had in place was a GE Simon XT, half of the zones were hardwires and the other half had wireless contacts. The ADT sales representative had assumed the Translator Module Wireless to wireless would work with the Safe Watch 3000 system and the customer's existing GE wireless contacts. Once I got to the learning/adding sensors for the SW3000 system part of the installation, all of the GE sensors did not work. I tried to troubleshoot the translator modulator and I even contacted multiple ADT technicians for advice/instructions on how to get the customer's GE wireless sensors to work properly, after trying all of the suggestions the other technicians gave me and having them not work, one of the ADT technicians asked me what type of PCB board the GE sensors had inside,
