It is not that easy to connect to Tableau to visualize our data. We need to have a middleware ODBC connector to get our MongoDB data into tableau. I am using Simba MongoDB ODBC driver. One need to set up DSN using Simba locally to MongoDB and once we open Tableau you can find multiple options to get connected to a database. Please select other database (ODBC) and you can DSN option. Please select the DSN that you have set up for MongoDB. Then click on connect and you will be connected to MongoDB. After connecting you can see all the databases and select the database and you can see the collections.
Select the collection and you can see all the information in tabular form on the right side of Tableau. Click on sheet in the left bottom corner to generate the visualizations.
