Alexander had a similar purpose even if it was shown in a different way. F. Alexander is a writer that was a victim to Alex’s crimes in the past. One of the worst things Alex did to him was rape his wife causing her to die of shock. When Alex is out of treatment F. Alexander helps him but over time it seems like he is starting to know who Alex is, “then I said: ‘Oh, Bog helps us.’ I didn’t like the look in F. Alexander’s glazzies. I made for the door, wanting to go upstairs”(pg. 184). What Alex is observing here is that F. Alexander is noticing something in him and Alex is fearful for what it is. This is the significance of this character. It is so Alex experiences the consequences of his actions and that he was not the best person. Someone who also faces some backlash is the Minister of the Interior. That is because he was part of the experiment and people thought what he did to Alex was wrong. He ends up apologizing in the public eye to make his run for government look good; “You are getting the best of treatment. We never wished you harm, but there are some who did and do.
