The published psychological research article chosen is Sensation-Seeking, Internet Dependency, and Online Interpersonal Deception. This study is intended to detail relationships between sensation-seeking, Internet dependency, and online interpersonal deception. Because of the extreme Internet usage, many are relying on Internet apps to conceal their identities forming a way of online interpersonal deception. According to the study, young people are more risk taking and are more likely to be high sensation-seekers who seek sensational experiences that spark off. One general education class with students of different majors and class rank were randomly selected to participate. The sample consisted of 707 respondents with only 675 successfully completing the survey. 372 were males and 303 were females with an age mean of 20.3. In regards t class rank, 123 were freshman, 179 sophomores, 193 were juniors, and 142 were seniors. The sample had 20 who did not receive diplomas in 4 years and were still attending the university and taking courses, and 18 declined to answer. In the end all respondents were arranged into two groups for each hypothesis: high and low sensation-seeking and high and low Internet dependents. There were two hypotheses being tested. H1 stated high sensation-seekers were more likely than low sensation-seekers to deceive others online. H2: High Internet dependents were more likely than low Internet dependents to deceive others online. The dependent variable (DV) for both was online interpersonal deception while the independent variable for H1 was high sensation-seekers and low sensation-seekers. DV is Quantitative/ Ordinal while IV is Qualitative/ Nominal. Both are ordinal because the study is conducting measurements by using a rating scale of 1 to 5. Both have 2
