The Heart To Saving Lifes
Have you ever knew that one little organ that stops workings in your body can eventually shut down your entire body? Yes, it is true and happens everyday. Why did she have to die? What is going on? Well, im talking about my moms friend. She past away seven years ago from kidney failure. All she needed was two participants to donate a kidney each. Let me remind remind you I was only eleven years old and was clueless about the whole situation. Kidney disease means for some time your kidneys have not been working the way they should. Your kidney has an important job of filtering your blood. When your kidneys don’t work right, wastes build up in your blood and makes you sick. Now if she would have had those two organs she may be living till this day.
1. Organ donation is a very helpful and great thing to do . It is the donation of biological tissue of and organ of the human body, from a living or dead person to a living recipient in need of a transplantation. There is no specific age in donating organs but the person has to be in good health. This means people that have HIV, actively spreading brain cancer, and certain severe current infections. Now , the different parts that you can donate are the kidneys, eyes, heart, lungs, liver, pancreas, and skin. Organ donation is improved due to, increased HLA(typing and cross matching facilities), improved facilities in packaging, transport and retrieval of organs, and supporting organizations for networking and registry maintenance. Now, are you finally coming to the realization of donating an organ? Well when you are donating that means you are donating them, not selling them. Having the heart to saving lifes, is important, which means you are not just thinking about yourself but also the well being of others. Experts say “ the organs from one donor can save or help as many as 50 people”.
There are many facts of organ donation that people may worry about. The first fact, is over 117,000 are waiting for a organ transplant. People are dieing each day or they are in desperate need of an organ. Another great fact is, that it is said that 90% of people in this world support organ donation. Like I mentioned earlier, it costs nothing to donate an organ. The cost of the organ transplantation is covered by the recipient. On average, 18 people die a day for not having an organ transplant. Another fact that many people worry about is , will it affect a funeral viewing. This is because the body is fully clothed, the eyes are closed shut, and the skin graphs are taken from the back side. You do not have to be deceased in order to donate your organs. There are some that you can donate which is the, kidneys, portions of your liver, and skin and bone marrow. It is told that ethnicity can make a more successful organ donation. Some diseases are more prevalent in certain ethnic groups and can only be treated through organ transplantation. Although, the success of a transplant can be enhanced by matching organs by ethnic and racial groups. Donating is not the only way you can support organ donations. Another way of supporting organ donation is to speak out to your community about it. There are some people that know nothing about organ donation like children. There should be more groups speaking out to the community so they can make a change and speak knowledge to the people that know nothing or very little about organ donation. Also, like I stated before you can save up to 50 lives by donating an organ. Always remember
