The career field I chose is Orthodontics. The reason for choosing this particular career field is because I find it interesting how an orthodontist can fix someone’s teeth, their jaw position, or abnormalities with their mouth. To most people, orthodontics does seem like a modern invention of today, but the use of braces dates all the way back to ancient civilizations such as the Egyptians, the Romans, the Etruscans, and the Greeks (“The History of Orthodontics: From Ancient Braces to Invisalign”). As of 2023, there are 15,817 businesses in the United States, which is a growth of 0.8% from the previous year (“IBISWorld - Industry Market Research, Reports, and Statistics”). To be an orthodontist, you need to be around the age of 28-30. For an orthodontist, there are no health and physical requirements to do the job. An orthodontist will need to have a kind and polite personality because being this way toward your patients will make them happier and also spread the word of your practice.
