An osteosarcoma, also known as a bone carcinoma or an Ewing's sarcoma, is a type of bone cancer, most common in young individuals, that pertains mostly to growth of malignant tumors in or on the large bones of the arms and legs. Changes in DNA increase the chance to develop certain types of cancers, but the link between that and osteosarcoma are unclear. The most common complaint is of an aching pain that worsens at night time. If the osteosarcoma is large, swelling may arise in the area of the tumor. Another symptoms of an osteosarcoma is the increased chance of bone fractures or breakage.
