The Tragedy of Othello is a play created by William Shakespeare during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I in London, England. As a young man, William Shakespeare became interested in theatre, possibly by watching other plays, and he then created his own. One of the four major tragedies of Shakespeare follows Othello, a noble Moor who was the General for the Venetian Army. ‘Honest’ Iago, a friend of Othello, lies to Othello, saying that his wife has been with another man and was unfaithful which gets into Othello’s mind, making him angry.
