We can ask ourselves, what makes a person chose to become a bully? Bullying is a national issue that follows through social media, and it occurs in school to younger children or even teenagers. In different situations bullying can occur to anyone just by looking at their appearance instead of knowing someone for whom they are in person. Others pick on you for being the weirdo from the student body class. It can be for being the smartest in school, airhead, and for being a dork. Sometimes the victims are afraid to speak up against their bully and to report them for being afraid that may result in them having low self-esteem. There are many organizations that help victims overcome bullying for example, “Defeat the Label” has help many Michigan schools and their community to decreased bullying. You might not know if this is a regular routine for the victim or if the bully goes through bad experiences at home which can provoke them to act the way they do to hurt someone instead of handling their pain. Focuses more on teenagers from the ages 13-19 that may attend middle school and high school where bullying begins. There are various options that bullies are not affected by this and don’t really care of what they continue to do. Parents need to be more active with their children now more than ever when they are being target on social media through Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, and school chat room. Bullying is a problem that may cause suicide attempt and the last thing any parent needs is to bury their child. Organizations that are promoting anti bullying are spreading the word to prevent all the suffering that a person mentally and physically goes through every day.
