At this day in age stereotyping is a natural habit. So many people stereotype every day without even realizing it. The media takes a big roll in stereotyping since it is checked multiple times a day by millions of people. Stereotyping needs to be overcome to make people feel better about themselves and what people think of them. I think there are many ways to overcome the habit of stereotyping. The best possible ways we could overcome stereotyping is by addressing it, accepting it, and lessons learned from it.

Referring back to the first paragraph stereotyping is a natural habit used in our everyday lives without even realizing it. Many people that are stereotyped feel attacked or hurt by these harsh remarks. When you are stereotyped I think you need to address it. Let whoever is stereotyping you know that it hurt your feelings. Maybe then they will realize to keep the comments to themselves and learn from their mistakes. If you do end up asking the person to not stereotype you remember to be polite and respectful.

No two people are exactly alike. I am constantly being stereotyped because of my shortness. I am always asked, "When are you going to grow?", "How tall are you?" I always ignore these questions and try to embrace it. My parents are both short so obviously, I get it from them. My mom and my grandmother always tell me "the best things come in the smallest packages." I can guarantee I will be saying this to my kids one day in the future.
