To begin with, the article clearly states the aim which is to compare the efficacy of an electric toothbrush with that of a manual toothbrush in controlling plaque and gingivitis. The trial was well organized and costly in terms of using specific and equal population (60 adult dental students) with inclusion and exclusion criteria, specific brand (Oral B), specific tooth brushing techniques and specific time period. I will consider this study as a reliable resource for my patients with gingivitis, because the participants covered by the trial are diagnosed with moderate gingivitis. In contrast, the introduction of the article included a classic study conducted in 1965 illustrating how mechanical method is the most widely accepted method of plaque control. The paragraph continues on with special features and specialties of powered toothbrushes. In my opinion this shows a small amount of bias towards manual toothbrushes where powered toothbrushes are prioritized and displayed as superior. At the same time,
