Nursing is not just a profession of integrity and compassion; it is a foundation that will accentuate my values as a human being and the responsibilities granted to me. I Ganiyat Aremu, wants to be a nurse because I enjoy being around people in their times of need and I get internal satisfaction by serving those that needs help. Another reason why I want to be a nurse is because it’s intriguing. In what other career can I have such an impact on people every day? Nursing suits my fascinating personality which includes interacting with patients and with families, especially in relation to informing them and helping them to help themselves. I also believe that the cure for many people ailments is not just in medicine; it is in the care that they receive as patients in hospitals and in their homes. In addition, I believe in caring for the patients in a way so as to bring about a transpersonal caring relationship among the patients, the nurse, and the atmosphere created. I realized my passion for nursing when I volunteered in a hospital a couple of years ago, and it was absolutely a delightful experience which I would love to share in my essay.
