As the people of this nation, there is a moral obligation to stand against the governments unjust actions. As the stance of this essay is very clear, peaceful resistance to unjust laws is a crucial component of the American identity.
As defined by the Hoover Institute, a free society “is a rule of law based on fundamental moral truths that are easily understood and fairly and effectively administered. If the founding fathers and the people of the thirteen colonies hadn’t resisted the rule of an unjust king, the United States of America would have never formed. The rule of King George III did not allow for key freedoms to be granted to the people whilst setting heavy taxes on them.
