Everyone has different traits that they look for in a person. It is impossible to find someone that possesses all of the, in your own mind, perfect traits. In class I was asked to list some traits that I would want in a perfect mate. My parents were also asked to list traits that they would want for me. To my surprise, my parents and I had a few similar traits they we would want in a perfect mate, but we also had some that were different. There were also some traits that my parents listed which were interesting to me.

The traits he said which were similar to mine are being smart, kind, and athletic. He also listed a different trait good-looking. This is also a pretty important trait that I overlooked when creating my list of traits. Of course being good-looking is not essential in a person, however it is a trait that I would want in my perfect mate. I was surprised that I listed as many traits in common with my dad as I did and not more different traits. This is because I am more like my mom, so I figured I would have more characteristics in common with her.
I had less traits of the same with my mom compared to my dad. The two traits that I did have similar to hers are being smart and kind. The other traits my mom listed were being a good cook, and being family oriented. I now realize that being a good cook would be a very important characteristic of my perfect mate. This is due to the fact that I can’t cook very many things. If I was the best cook in the family, we would be eating a lot of grilled cheese and hot pockets.
