1) Part 1 {100 points} Storyboard – to be turned in separately due date _Mar. 1_ LA.910.2.2.4 identify and analyze the characteristics of a variety of types of text (references, reports, technical manuals, articles, editorials, primary source historical documents, periodicals, job-related materials, practical/functional text); LA.910.2.2.5 select a variety of age-and-ability appropriate non-fiction materials (biographies and topical areas, such as science, music, art, history, current events) to expand the core knowledge necessary to connect topics and function as a fully literate member of a shared culture. i) Be sure to look over Part 3 before you begin ii) Get copy of Storyboard Work Sheet- physical or electronically iii) Sketch what you will do for your presentation iv) Turn in Storyboard when completed to www.flchoices.org via e-mail to instructor
2) Part 2 {100 points} 50% of slides and ALL resources + Draft letter due date:_Mar. 8_ i) Peer review
3) Part 3 {100 points} Due Date: Mar 22 i) PowerPoint – to be turned in via www.Edmodo.com to instructor, 1) Saved .PPT as “your initials.LDSHP.Occupation” i.e. “AMJ.LDSHP.Teacher” 2) Have a logical order to your slides. Create slides to generate a general overview of occupation chosen. **Slides based on the following and must include five (5) graphics with at least one graph/table/map** a) Create an introduction slide. b) List a description of the career you are researching for this project. c) Describe Requirements of this Career d) Research Colleges/Schools that offer degrees in this field in www.flchoices.org and other e) Diagram or Predict the Earning Power in this Career f) Analyze job opportunities available in this area, this state, in the United States. g) Interview Slide – i) Interview someone in this field and bullet the pros and cons of this career choice. ii) Write a letter to someone in this field asking the pros and cons of this career choice h) Conclusion slide: Give reasons convincing someone to pursue this career. i) Reference slide with at least three (3) references with no more than two from the Internet 3) Use correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation 4) Have at least 10 Slides (20 if working with partner) 5) Cite ALL work using www.easybib.com
4) Part 4 Presentation of project {100 points} Due Dates vary-- daily i) Student will present a 3-5 minute oral presentation to whole group of .PPT or Brochure ii) Student will compose a letter to someone in this field using 5 new vocabulary words.
